Talking mental health
Your mental health is a top priority, but how often do you take a step back to become curious of what state it’s in?
Our brain is a very powerful tool but can sometimes be overrun by
unnecessary and intrusive thinking. In turn this can lead to ‘dis-ease’ and it’s not uncommon for actual disease to manifest.
Burnout is a subject that really interests me because not only does it happen to the best of us, it can have such a direct impact on our professional and personal relationships. It’s like a silent assassin that manages to creep up on some of us with no warning signs. With others there can be more visible warning signs but often these are not paid attention to, if more seemingly important things are prioritised.
There can be profound physiological and psychological impacts of this. It can be valuable to look out for triggers. You can actually make a conscious effort to step outside from your own thoughts in these moments and be curious as to how these things are making you feel. Strength comes from allowing yourself to move into an impartial space that allows you to recognise where the stress has come from as opposed to allowing it to fester into the rest of your day.
Take 1 minute to really breathe! 60 seconds of conscious mindful breathing can actually impact us more than we realise. This will help;
Reset our go-button for the rest of the day
Create a day that works for us and not against us.
Allow the body and mind to work together to invite a space of calm after re-oxygenating. The body moves from a state of reactive to receptive
